Whistleblower Exposes Trump-DOGE Scheme

Every Friday, The Watchdog Report releases THE LIST, an ongoing literal list enumerating the members of the Trump Administration who need to be the subject of a Congressional investigation when Democrats retake control of Congress, and with it, the power of the congressional gavel (and subpoena pen). This week, SSA Commissioner Frank Bisignano is joining THE LIST.

The Washington Post published a bombshell piece revealing that the Trump Administration had secret plans to designate 2.7 million people as dead in a Social Security database as part of the Trump Administration’s immigration enforcement agenda. The story was predicated on the firsthand knowledge of a whistleblower, Jeremiah Schofield, who worked at the Social Security Administration, who was reportedly in the room when a Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) official laid out a plan to “kill off” millions of people in SSA’s master database. The consequences of being declared dead in the Social Security rolls are dire: those targeted will have their bank and credit accounts frozen, their mortgages may be cancelled, they will no longer have access to public benefits, and they will not be able to work lawfully. If they are citizens, they will also lose their ability to vote. Congressional Democrats on the Ways & Means & Oversight Committee’s should immediately launch an investigation into this scheme and gain testimony from SSA Commissioner Frank Bisignano. Furthermore, Democrats should seek testimony from any DOGE employees/contractors who had knowledge of or participated in conversations regarding the effort to fraudulently declare the living, dead, and determine if there are any other plans to try and manipulate the voter rolls by weaponizing the SSA.
