THE AGENDA
Every Monday, The Watchdog Report publishes THE AGENDA, a blueprint for Democrats in Congress to reassert themselves as a coequal branch of government. A few weeks ago, in THE AGENDA, we wrote about how “the USPS, in their zeal to “comply” with this EO, is about to inject unthinkable chaos into our elections by blocking eligible American citizens from voting while putting voting data into the hands of Trump Administration official who are using the guise of “election integrity” and “voter fraud” as justification for targeting demographics that tend to vote with Democrats. Just a few days ago, the Postmaster General, David Steiner, while testifying in front of a Senate committee, was asked pointedly by Senator Gary Peters, “If a state refuses to turn their absentee voter list over to the federal government, will the Postal Service still mail their ballots under this proposal?”
Steiner’s response: “Under our proposed regulation, no.”
There are a lot of things to talk about right now. A lot of issues that warrant a national discussion. A lot of issues that require action. A lot of issues we care about. But if Democrats nationwide don’t start talking about what is happening at the USPS, none of the issues they care about will see the light of day because the election will be decided before a single ballot is even cast. This is Issue #1, 2, and 3. The conditions under which this election will be held need to be a matter of national importance. It necessitates an immediate and constant drumbeat from Democrats at every level. Voters are supposed to choose politicians, not the other way around. And yet, the Trump Administration has given the USPS extraordinary powers to decide who gets a mail-in ballot and who doesn’t. Never mind the legality or constitutionality of this power grab. Never mind whether or not they possess the expertise to make this determination. Never mind if they have the manpower and know-how to accurately and securely manage dozens and dozens of databases. If Democrats keep acting like this election is being managed just like any other election from years past, they aren’t paying attention, and they will not win by design.
