Eric Trump appeared on Fox Business alongside Foundation Industries CEO to take a victory lap for landing a $24 million contract from the Pentagon. Imagine for a second how Republicans and Fox News and the Trump family would’ve reacted if Hunter Biden had appeared on what was then known as MSNBC to brag about a company he had invested in being “awarded” a lucrative government contract. There would have been calls for investigation into the Biden family business dealings. Banking records would’ve been subpoenaed. Congressional reports compiled. Hearings held. It would have been a never-ending drumbeat of corruption, insider dealing, and allegations of abuse of power. Oh, wait, that’s right, Republicans did that anyway (without a shred of evidence that the Biden family had any vested interests in any private enterprise that received American taxpayers' money). Democrats in Congress, particularly those with oversight of Pentagon contracts/procurement (Armed Services & Oversight), should launch an immediate investigation into the process by which Foundation Industries was awarded this contract. They should investigate what role, if any, Eric Trump had in pursuing this contract and determine whether anyone involved in the process was aware of Trump’s interest in the company and whether that awareness played any role in the process. Until we have those answers, Foundation Industries, you’re on THE LIST!
