Every Friday, The Watchdog Report releases THE LIST, an ongoing literal list enumerating the members of the Trump Administration who need to be the subject of a Congressional investigation when Democrats retake control of Congress, and with it, the power of the congressional gavel (and subpoena pen). THE LIST includes Ed Martin, Ballard Partners, and US Attorney for the District of Columbia, Jeanine Pirro, Kash Patel, Garrett Wade, aka “Johnny MAGA,” Ben Yoho (CEO of The Strategy Group) Tricia McLaughlin & Corey Lewandowski. The latest addition to THE LIST is Powerus, the drone company based in West Palm Beach, Florida backed by Eric & Donald Trump Jr.
The Wall Street Journal recently reported that “Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr., the president’s sons, are backing a new drone company that is vying to meet fresh demand from the Pentagon and fill a hole left by the administration’s ban on new Chinese drones in the U.S.” In short, a drone company that has a direct financial connection to the President of the United States’ sons is going to try and obtain lucrative government contracts from the Pentagon. Am I missing something? Can you imagine what Republicans would have said if this had been Hunter Biden or Chelsea Clinton? Surely, the Department of War and Secretary Pete Hegseth have in place some kind of procedural mechanism to ensure the President’s family won’t directly benefit from defense contracts right? Wrong. According to Senators Elizabeth Warren & Richard Blumenthal, “DoD appears to be oblivious to – and therefore unable to address – the potential for corruption created by the Trump family’s investments in companies that stand to benefit financially from taxpayer-funded, DoD contracts.” The Hill reported that “Powerus is also merging with Trumpbacked golf-course company, Aureus Greenway Holdings Inc. (AGH), to form Powerus Corporation.” The conflicts-of-interest at play here are absolutely staggering and the lack of safeguards in place to protect against potential corruption is at best negligent. This is a five-alarm-fire waiting to happen. That’s why Powerus (and Eric + Don Jr.) just made THE LIST.
