Is Trump Using USPS to End Mail-In Balloting?
Every Friday, The Watchdog Report releases THE LIST, an ongoing literal list enumerating the members of the Trump Administration who need to be the subject of a Congressional investigation when Democrats retake control of Congress, and with it, the power of the congressional gavel (and subpoena pen). This week, the Postmaser General David Steiner is joining THE LIST.
In March, the Postmaster General testified to Congress that the postal service is on the brink of complete collapse. He warned lawmakers on the House Oversight Committee that, "the Postal Service is at a critical juncture. I know that I wasn't aware of the extent of it before I took on this role, but at our current run rate and if we continue to pay our required obligations in the same manner as we have done in recent years, then we will be out of cash in less than 12 months.”
Two weeks after this testimony, President Donald J. Trump signed an Executive Order granting unprecedented authority over mail-in ballots to the USPS. The same USPS that is running out money, manpower, and is on pace to be insolvent less than a year from now. As The Watchdog Report detailed earlier this week, state election officials are being asked to either hand over voter lists to the Trump administration or risk losing Postal Service delivery for mail-in ballots.
What we are seeing unfold right now is simply a dress-rehearsal for the 2028 election. We promote what we permit and if we allow the USPS to become the arbiter of who gets a mail-in ballot in America, the consequences could be the difference in who wins and who loses not just the next election, but all the elections to come.
Democrats in Congress need to demand answer from the Postmaster General about how he intends to comply with the President’s Executive Order, if he has the human and technological and financial resources to competently decipher who is eligible to receive a ballot and who is not, what security systems are in place to ensure voter data is protected, what safeguards are in place to ensure eligible US citizens aren’t “accidentally” removed from voter rolls and aren’t able to receive a mail-in ballot, etc. Until these questions are answered, Postmaster General David Steiner, you’re on THE LIST!

What kind of underhanded hogwash is that? I thought ballots were sacred, not to be pawed over by a criminal government. Can they do that? Is it even legal? Silly question; nothing they do is legal.
